Properties: Colorless transparent liquid, can't exist in pure state, only exist in aqueous solution. The industrial products usually are aqueous solution whose concentration are about 42-48%; specific gravity(42% aqueous solution): 1.32; specific gravity(48% aqueous solution): 1.37; It is stable in concentrated solution, will decompose when heated to 130°C and can mutually soluble with water or alcohol. 
Uses: It is used as cleaning agent and corrosive for oxide and silicate film on the surface of metal, cleaning agent for aluminum and alloy before electroplating. Its 2.5% solution is used to electropolish pure aluminum, remove welding agent from metal base and rewashing solution of electroplated parts. It is also used as catalyst in alkylation and polymerization, corrosive inhibitor, chemical reagent and as material to produce fluoboric salt.
